Designed for VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda models with a 6-speed transverse manual gearbox: 02M, 02Q and MQ350.
Not suitable for the MQ250 gearbox (fitted to most 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.8 TSI models), or for Skoda Fabia, VW Polo, SEAT Ibiza and 1.9 TDI applications.
Shorter, sharper gear changes. Cut your gear throw by up to 40% for quicker, more precise shifts.
Infinitely adjustable: set the throw anywhere from standard feel to 40% shorter.
Fits all cable types: supplied with two pin sizes and a ball fitting to suit the different gear cables used across these models.

I’m a big fan of a budget build and “driver mods” - fair to say I would buy this product paired with the speed side quick shifter it is an absolute MUST. The standard setup is far too slack and loose for passionate driving. I installed both the quick shifter and side shifter at the same time and could not be happier with the results. 10/10 night and day difference. Notchy and direct, makes the car feel so much more engaging. Well worth it.

Great product and pretty easy to fit. The only difficulty was removing the gear lever gaiter as it was a very awkward customer! The result was a clearly shorter shift, which is of course what the product is designed for and I can't imagine driving the car without it.

Bought this for my 57' A3 2.0tdi
It came with three different 'studs' for mounting the linkage to. After removing the OEM part I was able to check against new parts supplied and see which one I needed to use for my installation. All in all , it took 15mins start to finish to install. Very simple indeed. It has made such a huge difference to the overall feel and drive of the car. Changing gear is now tighter and more precise. Bar the big turbo upgrade, it's one of my favourite mods... Just wish I had done it sooner!

The majority of Forge Motorsport products come with a limited lifetime warranty. All warranty claims must be accompanied by the original proof of purchase to enable us to help you — failure to supply this proof will result in your claim or enquiry being denied.
Please note that some products are excluded from the Forge lifetime warranty and instead carry their own specific warranty terms — for example, air filters, electrical components, coil packs, carbon fibre products, and suspension kits. Do not use aggressive (acidic) car cleaning products, particularly traffic film remover solutions or shampoos, to clean your intercooler, radiator, or oil cooler. The use of these products can damage Forge Motorsport cooling systems and invalidate your warranty. These are often found at car washes. A light, warm, soapy solution (free of harsh acidic cleaning compounds) should be used to clean your cooler, and thoroughly rinsed away afterwards. We recommend that you inspect your product regularly for bent and/or crushed fins — any bent fins should be carefully straightened to allow ambient air to pass through the core face. At the time of installing your Forge radiator, an approved coolant must be used. Be sure you never mix coolant types, and always use distilled water.
This warranty does not apply to any defect in the goods arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, accident, negligence by you or any third party, use otherwise than as recommended by the supplier, failure to follow the supplier's instructions, or any alteration or repair carried out without the supplier's approval.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Ignition Coil Packs
Forge ignition coil packs carry a 12 month warranty against manufacturing defects (not our Lifetime Warranty), from date of purchase. As coil packs are often swapped as a full set on suspicion rather than a confirmed fault, claims must identify the specific faulty unit(s) with supporting evidence (e.g. a diagnostic misfire code) and proof of purchase. Full sets cannot be claimed without this. See full terms and conditions for details.
Electrical Components
Electrical components supplied with Forge Motorsport kits — including solenoids, wiring harnesses and looms — are covered by a 12 month warranty against manufacturing defects, rather than our standard Lifetime Warranty. This covers faulty materials or workmanship only, and does not cover damage from incorrect installation, water ingress, wear, incorrect wiring, or faults originating from your vehicle's own electrical system or other aftermarket electrical accessories. Heat Management Products (Turbo Blankets and Gold Reflective Heat Barrier)
Turbo blankets and our gold reflective heat barrier are covered by a 6 month warranty against manufacturing defects (not our Lifetime Warranty), from date of purchase. Turbo blankets cure and lose flexibility over their first few heat cycles as a normal part of fitting. Once heat-cycled they should not be removed. The gold reflective heat barrier is designed for components such as engine covers, intake pipes and induction trays, not for direct contact with exhausts or turbine housings. Next day delivery applies to orders processed before 12 noon Monday to Friday, subject to stock availability and geographical restrictions. 'Next day' refers to next working day. We cannot guarantee next day delivery for orders placed after this time. Delivery is free of charge for all orders £200 (ex VAT) or over. Products are sent by standard DPD service which is usually a next day service, but can take 2 days in transit. We reserve the right to ship smaller, lower value items via Royal Mail or any other service. Delivery service charges will vary depending on the quantity of product ordered, the related parcel size, and destination postcode. Live shipping rates will be calculated at checkout using ShippyPro and dependent on criteria, you will be given the option of DHL, DPD, or FedEx courier services.
Shipping into the EU - Duty Charge Information
All Forge products are sold with a Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) status and an import tariff may apply to your order. Customers will be contacted by the Customs and Excise authority in the destination country regarding payment prior to delivery, and it is important that correct contact telephone number and email information be submitted with the order to facilitate this part of the delivery process. Some couriers are charging an admin fee for shipping into the EU.
If we detect at checkout that you are located within the European Union (EU), you are eligible for a contribution towards your import duty and tax payments. We can add an additional 20% on the total cost of your order, we will then pay the duty and tax costs above your contribution. Forge Motorsport ships via either UPS, FedEx, DHL (primarily for outside of UK), DPD (primarily for UK), or any other courier we chose. Other shipping options may be available for an additional fee over and above the actual shipping costs. Once a product has left our warehouse and is in the possession of the shipping company, any claims must be made directly with that shipper however we can assist with most cases.

This product will work fine with the OE side to side mech, however if you want the closest shift then you would want to purchase the Forge side to side shifter kit also.

Yes, the short shifter with part number FMVWQS (front to back travel) is compatible with the Golf MK7 R; also compatible with the Golf MK7 R is the FMVWSQS (side to side travel).
